Condition - good vintage condition for its age. It has been taken up and hemmed with enough fabric to let it back down by 3" if needed.
Margot Bywaters was well known for making beautiful high end occasion dresses/gowns. They had a boutique located in central London from 1946 to 1971.
This is an early 1950s ballgown, and, it is absolutely stunning.
It is made from a good quality black satin fabric with beautiful pink petal shaped sequins and clear bead embellishment to both the front and back of the neckline.
The dress is strapless and boned and it fastens to the back of the dress with a metal zip and hook fastening.
It has a black binding strap to the inside of the waist which cinches the waist in and fastens with two hook & eyes.
It is a maxi length gown with pleated panel to the back of the dress from the waist down.
An absolutely stunning dress that is the perfect addition to any vintage collection.
Please note that the dress is being shown pinned to fit the mannequin.
