Vintage 1970s NORMAN HARTNELL UK Size 14 Blue Poly Jersey Tie Neck Long Sleeve Belted Day Dress
Brand - Norman Hartnell.
Condition - Great vintage condition.
Has been freshly laundered so is ready to wear.
Norman Hartnell is probably best known as Queen Elizabeth II's dressmaker. He began designing in 1923 and was showing in Paris by 1927. He was a well respected designer and was appointed dressmaker to the Royal Family in 1937. He also designed uniforms for the British Red Cross during WW2. And, he started his ready to wear line in 1942.
This lovely dress is made from a jersey polyester fabric in blue fleck detail.
It has a small tie fastening to the front of the neck, with three buttons.
It has long sleeves that fasten at the cuffs with a button.
With the original belt at the waist.
It has a below knee length slightly flared skirt that is unlined.
Please note that the dress is being shown pinned to fit the mannequin.
