Condition - great vintage condition for its age. The only issue is that there is some light marking to the underarms on the inside and outside edge of the arm hole. Otherwise it is pretty much pristine.
Has been freshly laundered so is ready to wear.
Blanes were well known in the 1950s and 1960s for making good quality evening wear and this is no exception. It is very well made from good quality fabric and the finishing of the dress is superb. A great British label.
It is made from a mid wight fabric, a cotton mix I would think.
The bodice is cream with a lime green braid trim in a floral design.
It has a rounded neckline and is sleeveless.
With more of a v-neckline to the back. Fastening with a zip and hook fastening at the back of the waist.
The skirt is a straight style with subtle pleats and a bow detail to the front left hand side of the waist.
Maxi in length and backed with a cotton calico type lining.
Absolutely beautiful for a special occasion.
It is labelled as a UK Size 18 but it is more like a size 12 based on the measurements.
Please note that the dress is being shown pinned to fit the mannequin.
