Vintage Original 1940s UK Size 12 Black Rayon Mid Sleeve Belted Dress

Brand - Homemade

Condition - good vintage condition for its age. No significant damage to note. Just some light signs of general wear. But for an 80+ year old dress it is good.

This lovely original 1940's WW2 era dress has been homemade from a black rayon fabric. 

It has a square neckline to the front of the dress and fastens to the side with a metal zip.

It has mid length sleeves with triangular under arm gussets, which were popular in clothing in the 1940's. They were added to aid movement. 

It has the original belt at the waist with lovely gold tone base metal buckle. It's unusual to find an original 40's dress with its original belt, never mind one with such a lovely buckle.

It has a mid length slightly flared skirt that is lined from the waist down. 

Please note that the dress is shown pinned o fit the mannequin.

Vintage sizes often come up smaller than modern day sizes. For this reason we measure each of our garments and estimate the modern day size of it based on today's fashion industry standards.
