Brand - Johanne Ortiz (From Her Couture Collection Not A H&M Collab Piece)

Condition - Good condition. 

Johanne Ortiz is a renowned Columbian designer. After studying Fashion Design at Fort Lauderdale in Florida she started her own label in 2003. She started out with swimwear and resort wear before branching out in to ready-to-wear and accessories. 

Her brand is still proudly based and produced in Cali, Colombia, where we she was born and raised. She provides local employment and founded a supporting artisan craft training program.

Her designs are characterised  by "barefoot elegance" and have an exuberant Latin American flair. Which this piece certainly does. Her collections are sold all around the world through major luxury retailers and on her own website. Harrods and Liberty't both carry her collections. 

Her dresses range from £1750-£4000 on the website and are true designer pieces.
This piece is from her AW18 collection and this dress is named, on the label, The Place Of Silent Dress. I can't find out how much this piece was brand new but at £295 it is still a fraction of what the original price would have been.
It is made from 100% silk in pale pink. With a beautiful floral & bird print. 
It has one thin shoulder straps and one ruffle shoulder detail. 
It has a v-neckline to the front with ruffle trim detailing diagonal across the front of the bodice and then down across the skirt in the opposite direction. With layers of plisse pleated ruffle tiers all around the lower part of the dress. 

It hangs and moves beautifully and has so much volume. Its soooo good!
It has plunging open v-neckline to the back and fastens with a zip.
There is a press stud fastening to the v-neckline to the front so it doesn't gape open. But it can be worn without it being fastened. The bust is lined with two little shaper pads hand sewn in. 

The dress is a full length gown and lined.
It is giving Spanish Flamenco vibes. 
Just an absolutely beautiful dress. The pics don't do it justice at all. 
Labelled as a US size 6 and measuring to a UK size 10.

Please note that the dress is being shown pinned to fit the mannequin.

Vintage sizes often come up smaller than modern day sizes. For this reason we measure each of our garments and estimate the modern day size of it based on today's fashion industry standards.
