Vintage 1930s/1940s EXQUISITE Size 8 Pale Pink Silk Embroidered Nightdress

Condition - Very good vintage condition for its age. 

This original 1940s nightdress is an absolutely beautiful collectors piece. 

It feels so lovely to the touch and is made from a gorgeous soft silk. There are no labels in this but I am sure that is pure silk. With the neck edging and tie, and the tie back, feeling like a silk rayon mix. It has a slightly different texture to the rest of the nightdress. 

It has a deep v-neckline to the front and with a tie fastening. Both ends of the tie pass through a small hole and then tie, to keep it in place. 

It has short, ever so slightly puffed sleeves and slips on over the head. 

With beautiful blue forget me now floral embroidered detailing all down the front and than around the back of the bias cut hem panel.

During wartime, forget-me-nots symbolized enduring love, fidelity and remembrance. 

The attention to detail on this is just exquisite and I adore it so much!

You could actually wear this as a dress.
