She designed her first wool knit dress for herself in 1962, to stretch her own wardrobe budget that bit further. Her fiance, Bob Gray then decided to pitch her designs to department stores and got an order for 84 dresses! St John Knits took off pretty quickly appealing to woman who liked a classic look. She later went on to sell 80% of the company to Escada.

This lovely piece is a vivid green wool knit with short sleeves.

It has a high round crochet neck line and fastens to the back of the neck with a zip and hook.

With short crochet sleeves.

A lovely vintage jumper that is perfect for summer with is short sleeves.

Please note that this is being shown pinned to fit the mannequin.
