Condition - good vintage condition.

Has been freshly laundered so is ready to wear.

Rose Marie Reid was a swimsuit designer who was very popular in the 1950's. She changed the face of swimwear for woman with her belief that woman should feel just as glamorous in a swimsuit as she did in an evening gown and her designs centred around this. She was the first swimsuit designer to introduce tummy panels, brief skirts and inner brassieres.

She also designed cover up garments and holiday dresses to wear over swimsuits and these are getting quite hard to find. This is a rare dress. More substantial than a cover up. A proper dress. 
The dress is being made from 100% nylon in blue & purple tones. With a beautiful feather print. Signed Rose Marie Reid in several places.
It has a round neckline to the front of the dress and slips on over the head. 

It ties to the back of the neck and is split all the way down the centre of the back of the bodice. You could wear it the other way round if you wanted to be more daring!
The dress has ruched elasticated shoulders and very wide and loose fitting mid length sleeves that drape over the arms. 
With a very tight elasticated waist to cinch in and add shape. 

It is maxi in length and unlined.

Although nylon it isn't see through so can be worn as a dress rather than a cover up. It is a beautiful piece and the pics don't so it justice. 
Labelled as a UK size 10 but it would also fit up to size 12.

Please note that the dress is being shown pinned to fit the mannequin.

Vintage sizes often come up smaller than modern day sizes. For this reason we measure each of our garments and estimate the modern day size of it based on today's fashion industry standards.

Chest - Up to 38"
Waist - up to 34"
Hips - Free
Length - 55" shoulder to hem when on the hanger. But, when worn the length will be a couple of inches shorter as it has to be hitched up on to the waist.
