Brand - Creation Carven Paris

Condition - Very good vintage condition.

This is a fabulous 80s's cocktail party dress by designer Marie Louise Carven.
Carven was a French fashion designer with her own couture line designing gowns for petite woman. She founded the Carven haute couture house on the Rond Point des Champs Elysées in 1945. In Paris, her designs were worn by high society and many  celebrities, including Edith Piaf. In 1978 she designed the uniforms for Air France hostesses.

This piece is from the 1980s and is made from a lovely soft cotton velvet with emerald green silk contrast.

It has a double layer neckline with the black outer neckline being rounded, and the green silk inner neckline being square.

It fastens to the back of the dress with a zip and hook.

With long sleeves.

It is a straight fitting design, skimming the waist with a green silk pleated hemline piece with large bow detail.

Mid length.

Perfect for party season.
