Vintage Early 1950s (Possibly 1940s) UK Size 6 Pale Mauve Tulle Net Sequin Strapless Princess Ballgown

Brand - Unbranded. Likely a bespoke seamstress made piece.

Condition - Generally in good vintage condition for its age with a few issues which I have reflected in the price. It would probably benefit from a specialist dry clean. It is a little discoloured around the around the edge of the neckline, like age related marks. You have to look closely to see. There is also some marking to the inside lining under the arms. Doesn't effect the outside of the dress. There is quite hole to the second layer of tulle net but there are a further two holes over the top so it isn't visible. There are a couple of tiny little holes on the top layer but well hidden and you have to search to fine it. There are also a few little areas of missing or loose sequins which is only to be expected from a 70+ year old dress.

This is an absolutely beautiful ballgown. Its so sugar plum fairy in style. 

It is a lovely soft pale mauve shade. Not quite pink but not quite lilac. 

The bodice is a satin bodice covered with the tulle netting and heavily embellished with sequins. 

The dress is strapless and boned for structure and support. 

Fastening to the side of the dress with a metal zip and hook. 

The skirt is so full.... it is amazing. It is made from four layers of tulle net over a sateen inner layer. Then lined from the waist down with a cream cotton gauze fabric. 

It is an absolutely stunning ballgown perfect for a special occasion. The pics don't do it justice at all.
