Vintage Early 1970s VERY RARE FRANCA POLACCO Size 6 Emerald Green Halter Neck Occasion Maxi Dress

Brand - Franca Polacco.

Condition - Great vintage condition.

Has been freshly laundered so is ready to wear. 

This gorgeous vintage dress is from a very rare label, Franca Polacco.

Franca Polacco was known as the Venetian Queen of Fashion. Her fashion journey started when she went back to Venice after being exiled during WW2. She began to create embroidered items in her spare time and her speciality was scarves. They were noticed by a very well known Ventian boutique called "La Piavola de Franca" who went on to sell these shawls under their own label after signing an exclusivity contrast with Franca. In the 1960's she went on to produce her own collections under the label Creazioni Franca, and then later, under the label Franca Polacco, which this dress is one of. Popular with local boutiques as well some English and American suppliers. There are literally no other pieces currently for sale online that I can find and because her collections were always very limited editions, her pieces are very rare and don't come up often.

This gorgeous dress is made from an emerald green silk jersey fabric. 

It has a plunging v-neckline with small collar and ruched gather pleating to the back of the halter neck. 

It has a very open back and fastens to the side of the waist with a zip and two hook & eyes. 

It is maxi in length with a double layered skirt that is split up the front panel.

Lined from the waist down. 

Absolutely stunning for a special occasion.
