Vintage RARE Late 1960s UNUSUAL Black Patent Leather Chain Strap Handle With Screw Off Fastening

Condition - Good condition for its age.
This a beauty! It is unusual as the bag opens by unscrewing the decorative "flower" on the front.
From the research I have done this was likely a European piece, probably French.
I have only ever seen one other mid-century bag like this. It is a securely fastening bag unless you unscrew the flower to the front. Seems like an inconvenience but they were used for a few reasons:
1) Security - The contents couldn't spill out if the bag tipped over and no-one could easily access the bag if they wished to try and steal from you!
2_Cleaner design - Designers could avoid visible catches, snaps or frames.
3) Many handbags were designed almost like jewellery accessories. So an ornate screw fitting felt luxurious.
4) These types of cocktail bags weren't intended for everyday use. So they didn't need to be accessed all the times and people weren't constantly reaching for a phone! Women typically only carried a compact, lipstick, a hanky and some cash. Some the bag wasn't opened more than several ties a night.
It feel like it might have been a more high end bag this one. Made from patent leather with a suede type lining.
It has a gold tone multistrand handle.
As mentioned it opens by unscrewing the fold tone stone set flower to the front - a few of the petals are a little bent but these could be pushed back in to place. And it isn't noticeable anyway.
On the inside there is just one compartment and two small wall pockets.
