Vintage 1970s pink embroidered handwoven tassel detail Mayan Mexican Guatemalan Huipil poncho.

Condition - Very good vintage condition.

Huipil's are sleeveless tunic style capes, worn by women in many regions of Mexico and Guatemala.

It will have been handwoven probably by a master weaving family in Zinacantan. One of the meccas of Mayan textiles in Mexico.

This is a gorgeous example with beautiful floral bird & butterfly embroidered detailing.

Slips on over the head and ties at the sides with tassels.

Will fit one size up to about size 12.

An rare piece.
